Great Lakes Wind Collaborative holds first annual meeting

Per a May 7, 2008, press release from the initiative, some 120 Great Lakes policymakers and business leaders interested in development of wind energy attended the first annual meeting of the Great Lakes Wind Collaborative in Buffalo, N.Y. Meeting attendees included representatives from U.S. and Canadian federal, state and provincial agencies, nongovernmental organizations, wind developers and investors, utilities, consultants, academia, and other regional stakeholders.

The Collaborative, formed in 2007, “is reaching across multiple sectors and disciplines to identify and address the technical, environmental, regulatory, educational and financial benefits and issues related to the deployment of wind energy resources” in the Great Lakes region.
